The first thing to be added is a handbagholder. Great for minding your handbag when seated around a table in aresturant or other public place. It is amazing where our handbags get to. We will sit our bags on the floor and not even think about it, then the same bag will be put onto a table that we may be eating at. I do not
believe in everything being sterile but a bit of common sense is sometimes need. The handbag hook is the answer to this problem.

It is also practical way to keep your handbag safe in bars, restaurants and workplaces.

Like many mothers, I had no idea what this ‘child’ would turn out like when I first decided to create the Baggitz handbag organizer. I have had other businesses from startup to profitable. “Easy”, I thought.

But creating a new product for production is a whole different thing. Like giving brith to a child, it is a long process, during which there are many times when it seems nothing is happening and nothing ever will!

There seem to be months of waitiing for each step in the process. The long process to find just the right manufacurer. And the months of waiting for a website.

When a child is born, we celebrate a job well done! But of course the job is really barely started. The child is utterly dependent, taking constant care and devoted attention, and at first unable to give back even a smile.

When a new product is launched, the situation is similar. The handbag organisers are selling well through direct sales and wholesale. It requires constant care and attention to details.

I have hopes that one day Baggitz will grow to maturity. Maybe (like a good child) it will even take care of me in retirement! But for now, I have only the satisfaction of doing my best day after day.

As a young girl it seems like I used to spend hours in the craft shops. Back them it was difficult to find all the bits that are so readily available now.

In my ’spare’ time I like to distract myself with other forms of creativity so I have been making a few items that I think will compliment the handbag organizers.

The first thing I have made are keyring charms. What do you think?

I will be adding them to the website tomorrow but for now here is a preview.

Look out for the others tomorrow on Baggitz.com

It will be a steep learning curve. Guess we really learn the most from experience rather than theory.

Soon it will all become second nature and I will wonder what all the fuss was about.

While waiting for the Baggitz website to be finished off I have decided to start my blog as this has been ready for a few days now.

This whole experience of creating my web site or should I say having my site created for me, selling the handbag organizers on Ebay plus the buzz that I am getting each time I sell another organizer brings back my childhood memory where this whole making and selling process began.

As a little girl I would make ‘Kool-Aid’ and set up stall at the bottom of the driveway selling a cup full to anyone willing to pay. I think in reality I probably drank more than I sold.

Then I progressed on to bigger things. I tried my hand at different crafts but at about the age of 10 or so I remember creating woven potholders with cotton jersey waste on a 6 inch square loom. I would carefully select the different colour combinations and select the best cotton loops and make up these squares in lovely plaids. What to do with all that I had made? I decided to go door to door and sell them for 25 cents each (it was a long time ago). The more I sold the more I wanted to make.

There is definitely an excitement each time I sell something I have created and each sale I wonder about that person and how I have become a part of their life.

The Internet gives me the opportunity to set up my stall for the world to experience my products and me.

I look forward to the future and sharing my creations and experiences with you.
